Department of Immigration and Border Protection’s new experience centre.

Australian Smart Group was awarded the contract to undertake the construction of the Department of Immigration and Border Protection’s new experience centre. The space is a test for the what will be the future generation of office layouts to be undertaken by the client. With multiple workstations manufacturers, this project required us to innovate. We had to come up with different types of designs for the cabling so it could be installed in such a way that the workstations could be raised and lowered as needed and relocated with minimal impact to the client. The fitout combined both fixed and loose furniture with LED lighting, allowing for the task lighting to be practical, flexible and effective. We used C-Bus lighting control to overcome any switching and light-level constraints. At the workstations, we incorporated USB charging hubs and a Flexible Cat-6 Data Solution to match the existing infrastructure, which allows for connectivity to all work points and collaboration spaces. Our attention to detail can be appreciated by incorporating in-house engineering.
