Right from the get-go this project truly showed all that could be achieved thanks to our partnerships with the world’s leading manufacturers and suppliers. Due to our relationship with Clipsal by Schneider Electric we were able to offer a tailored lighting control solution, unmatched in Australia – and upgraded the lighting controls of the Department of Finance. This project ran for 12 full months and was carefully undertaken during at night-time in order to minimise any interruptions to the client’s fully occupied building. Australian Smart Group’s clearances to work in the restricted areas of this building streamlined the process for all parties involved. In total this extensive C-Bus lighting controls upgrade also included an overhaul of the building automation systems, with the decommission of an existing PLC based control system and its HMI. It also required the installation of a new Ethernet network to 5 floors & 4 Wings, as well as the removal of existing input cabling and the installation & fit-off of the new C-Bus input units, new lighting using the DB’s LV products, relays & dimmers incorporating ABB ArTu Technology to minimise power outage times during changeover. To add to the already impressive complexity of this project, we installed the Maintenance PC: responsible for running schedule, with fully rendered 3D floor layouts, and a simple to use Emergency Lighting Duration test package which was integrated into the C-Bus network.
